Hi! I’m Melissa…also known as Mel or Missy. I’m a 20-something blonde living and loving life in the greater Boston area. I grew up swimming competitively, and after 4 years of NCAA I fell in love with open water swimming (hence, i swim for oceans). I'm a travel writer and marketing professional, but my passion lies in literature - with the reading age of a perpetual teenager. I’ve been blogging here for over three years now, and I love to meet new people. Thanks for stopping by, and I do hope you’ll come back soon!

A few "fun" facts about me:

- I have two rescue cats, Stella and Jasper, the former being a Bengal. I also have a rescue Chow puppy.

- I escaped Alcatraz in June of 2008. No, I'm not kidding.

- Its my ultimate dream to be an author, both of a self-help book and (hopefully) some YA fiction.

- If I had a million dollars, I'd open a cat sanctuary...despite le boyfriend's protests.

- I'm deathly afraid of the bottom of boats. No, I don't know why.

- I used to model. Just because. 

- I often spew random bits about CrossFit on my twitter. Also, Paleo. I drank the Kool-Aid.
