All reviews I write are a true reflection of my personal opinions and feelings towards different books. No, I’m not a professional reviewer. I do, however, take great care in creating insightful and honest reviews of all books that I read for I Swim for Oceans. While I cannot promise you a positive review, I will always promise an HONEST review, meaning that I will thoroughly explain my take on a book, whether positive or negative. I do not take pride in ripping a novel apart, and I have tremendous respect for the time and effort authors put into their novels.
All reviews will feature a brief synopsis from Goodreads, a personal synopsis, my take on the author’s writing, and a short review of the plot points/characters/etc. I rate my reviews on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being a negative recommendation and 5 being the best recommendation possible.
I am actively accepting review copies of Young Adult books at this time, but please make note of the sub-genres I am willing to read and review.

I am, however, NOT interested in adult novels, as I will not review them here on the site.
While I will accept the occasional e-book, it must be compatible with my e-reader (I own a Barnes & Noble NOOK). Please be aware, however, that all hard copies (paperback or hardcover) will receive preference in my review schedule.
Self-Published Novels:
I do accept self-published novels, however, I am selective in those I choose to review. If your self-published novel does not meet the above criteria, I’m afraid I’ll be unable to review your book. Please also be aware that as of 1/13/11, I am no longer accepting self-published novels in e-book format.
Timing of Reviews:
I do my best to review all books in a timely manner in the order in which I receive them. ARCs will receive due preference, and reviews for ARCs will be posted approximately one month before the release date of the tile in question. I will review previously published work within 1 month of receiving the book in question. I will always notify the sender of the ARC/Review Copy of the day the review is posted. All links are posted on my Goodreads, Amazon, Twitter, Facebook and Random Buzzers on the day a book is reviewed.
I am always interested in featuring author interviews and giveaways on my site, however, I prefer to be familiar with the author and have read his/her work prior to an interview or giveaway. If you are interested in arranging the aforementioned, please contact me below.
